Mark was born in Pasadena, California in 1973, and has lived his life in the beach communities of South Orange County. At an early age, Mark was encouraged to pursue his creative skills and his love of the outdoors. This has translated into a fervent pursuit of oil painting for the past decade.
 

   Since receiving a Bachelors degree in Environmental Studies from the University of California at Santa Barbara in 1996, Mark has worked closely with the natural world and expresses this kinship in his art.

 

   With sales, awards of merit, and donations to local charities, his paintings are reaching others who share a similar appreciation for the art of life and the beautiful spirit of the world we live in.

 

   Mark begins his creative process painting small sketches on location, which he later references for his larger studio works. This enables his studio paintings to reflect the people, sites, sounds, and emotions of the plein-air studies. This process has matured the artist to develop a unique style and a fresh approach to painting nature.
